Information for Presenters

• Facilities available for Presentations

Please note that only Power-Point is available for presentations, there is no OHP (Over Head Projection/Slide) facilities. 30 minute session is allocated for each paper presentation which should include 10 minutes for discussion time. We recommend that you bring your presentation file on memory stick/USB pen as a back up.

• Submission of full paper

All paper presenters should submit thier full paper to the EASP (conference@welfareasia.org) by 30th July 2010. Submitted papers will be considered for publication either in special issues/volumes of the relevant social policy journals or in the form of edited conference volume. The publication committee of the EASP will make an individual contact with the selected presenters and invited their papers for publication  after the conference. The exact format of publication and its organising theme will be subject to further discussion at the conference.

• Handouts

It is up to presenters whether s/he would like to distribute extra printed materials at your presentation. Please note that in such a case an individual presenter will be responsible for printing and distributing the materials.

• E-version of full paper

Full papers from all presenters will be uploaded to the EASP website before the conference. The access password will be notified only for the conference delegates.

 

Poster Presentation

Presenters in poster session need to bring the poster with you to the conference (maximum A1 size). You will receive board number at the registration in the conference venue then you can display your poster on the board. You may address questions from audience during lunch time, coffee break and time between the last session of the first day and conference dinner.

• By Limousine Bus from Incheon International Airport (ICN)
  

Right outside of the arrival floor of the Airport, there are 23 bus stops. You will find a bus stop, "5B or 12A". The limousine bus, numbered 6002, will take you to Shinchon Station. It will take about 50 minutes to get to Shinchon by the limousine bus. The fare for the limousine is 9,000KRW (about USD 7). Sogang University and Casaville Shinchon are less than 10 minutes' walk from the station (see the map below).

• By Taxi from Incheon International Airport
  

You may also take a taxi on the first floor of the airport. There are three kinds of taxis; Regular, Deluxe, and Jumbo. The fare of the Regular taxi to Sogang University and Casaville Shinchon is approximately 50,000KRW (about USD 39), while the fare of the Deluxe or Jumbo cab costs much more. Make sure to carry enough taxi fee with you because the fee is subject to change.

• Subway To get to Sogang & Casaville Shinchon

take the green line number 2 and get off at "Shinchon" (stop #240), get out exit 6 and you can arrive at main gate within 5 minutes on foot. Or take the brown line number 6 and get off at "Daeheung" (stop #625), get out exit 1 and you can reach the south gate within 8 minutes on foot. Casaville Shinchon is placed one-minte walk from exit 7 of "Shinchon" subway station (line 2). The basic fare starts at 1,000KRW and increases according to distance. Most announcement signs are in both Korean and English.

• Shinchon

Shinchon is a famous district for its shopping streets in Seoul. It is also well-know as a universitis area. Ewha Womans university, Yonsei, Sogang, Hong-ik university are located there. Shinchon area is filled with those students at night, they get together at pubs and they enjoy talking over drinks. It's very vivid and active atmosphere. You can join them without any strange feeling so just step in and say hello then they will accept you and starts talking freely. Streets of Shinchon are filled with youths wearing the latest fashions. Many clothes shops, accessory shops,shoes salons as well as discotheques and restaurants offer things for the youths to buy and enjoy their lives. (from www.globosapiens.net)

 

Accommodation Information

• Casaville, Shinchon (Residence Hotel)

Casaville Hotel is located only a few blocks away from the front gate of Sogang University, the Conference Venue (it approximately takes around 5 minutes by walk) . They will additionally charge extra 3000 Won (approx. $3 per day, per room) for Continental breakfast. If you want to have breakfast at the hotel, please notify it when you book your room. Internet service is available for all room.

• Seoul Garden Hotel (5 Star Hotel with more luxurious options)

If you want a more luxurious option, we recommend Seoul Garden Hotel. Seoul Garden Hotel is approximately 1Km away from Sogang University so we recommend those of you planning to accommodate at Seoul Garden Hotel to take a taxi.
